Letter to Sindaco Requesting Action
Draft a letter to the sindaco (town mayor) of your town of interest to request his action following no response from a prior request to the stato civile for the town.
About this letter
This letter should only be used if you have sent a letter to the Stato Civile or Anagrafe, received no reply, then sent a follow-up letter, which also went unanswered for at least a month. There was a law passed in Italy on 7 August 1990, law 241, that establishes the right of the public to receive a reply from a public office within thirty days of a request. This letter rarely goes unanswered. You will find this extremely effective. Be sure to include a copy of your follow-up letter with this letter.
