| Instructions for use:
Enter either the name of the town or the CAP you
are searching for in the spaces provided above
You can use a wildcard in your search if you want
to return all similar results. The wildcard character
is the asterisk (*). The proper format for
the wildcard search would be the following:
If you were searching for all towns that started
with "san giov", you would use "san
giov*" without the quotation marks and all
results that matched would be displayed. You
can also use the wildcard in different spots to
derive different results (ie. . beginning, middle,
or more than once). If you enter nothing but
an asterisk, you will get every record in the database--which
is about 6.7 MB and may take a while depending on
your connection speed. You can use also wildcards
for the CAP field.
*CAP = Codici di Avviamento Postale (Postal
Code) -- It is a 5 digit code used for postal zoning.
It is similar in purpose to the U.S. ZIP code.
